I hope Christmas was good to one and all!
Santa dropped off a brand new point and shoot camera, a Lumix FG3. Here’s a few snaps. Im quite satisfied by its sharpness and quality. It’s light and easy to use.

This last weekend was spent at the art show, I mingled with other artist, talked to potential customers and basically had a good time showing my photo art. I sold several pieces and walked away with a little bit of cash. Hurray! Here’s a few snaps Wally took of the table and me.

This is a picture that Paul took of me at Raceway Park. Paul was the brains behind this trip, I was just stating to learn film analysis. We were asked to determine the ride height of a Mopar Funny Car at the end of the track, when it’s at maximum speed. So we hauled all this equipment down to Indianapolis, for the event. We ran an AC inverter off a van that we had to keep running the whole time. The camera is a Kodak Ektapro (it belongs in a museum now), the white box is the main processor for 1000 frames per second (a big 512 pixels wide), the box above that is a S-VHS deck (another museum piece) used to record each event. Above that is the intensifier which shutters each frame to about 1/100,000 of a second. Which Paul determined, we needed to stop a car moving about 130 mph at a 90 degree angle to the camera. As I remember we got about 2 frames, enough to do the measurements for ride height. I think I actually lost a few pounds since then, it looks like I was really enjoying the in field burgers!

I would really like some feedback on this image, I don’t know if I should include it in my portfolio?
It was shot in April of this year.

I spent some time today with my new friend Bob. We went to an old stomping ground: Cranbrook Art Institute. All these are HDR processed from 3 images, shot with a tripod.

This is in our neighborhood, we have been going on walks every day, trying to take in all the colors, but gosh, it sure seems to be going by quick!

This was at Proud Lake, it’s one of our all time favorites!

thinking about taking the kayak out today, it’s supposed to be nice.
We have some work to do first…. bummer
